Clear aligners are a discreet and removable brace which are custom moulded to fit comfortably over your teeth. The custom mould applies gentle pressure in order to reposition your teeth over time.
When you choose to use clear aligners for straightening your teeth, you will be provided with a series of aligners (depending on the level of your treatment) that you change over week on week so that your teeth are re-aligned. You will see your Peterborough orthodontist every 6 weeks or so to allow them to check up on how your treatment is progressing. Unlike fixed wire braces, aligners can be removed for eating, drinking or any special events where you might not want to wear them (but we would always advise wearing them as much as possible).
Orthodontic treatment can be carried out at any age. Traditionally orthodontics are carried out when all of the adult teeth have grown, however early interceptive treatment can sometimes begin at a much younger age to help make treatment times shorter.
